March 26-28, 2024. Panelist at the international conference on upcycling food waste into animal feed.

Dr. Nakaishi participated as a panelist from Japan at “Food Waste to Animal Feed – A Virtual International Conference“, an online international conference on food waste to animal feed held on March 26-28, 2024.

The conference was organized by Prof. Jerry Shurson, Department of Animal Science, University of Minnesota, and Prof. Zhengxia Dou, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, with the aim of sharing knowledge on the importance of food waste into animal feed with experts and feed industry stakeholders worldwide.

At the meeting, Dr. Nakashi presented a report on government policies, regulations, incentives, and progress on the use of food waste as feed in Japan, and discussed with panelists from other countries the possibility of developing international guidelines for feed conversion.
